On the Hill of Bog Cotton
'At the Shieling on the Hill of Bog Cotton - Aig àirigh Beinn a' Chanaich' reflects the time spent and flora and fauna encountered on a trip to Tìr mo Rùin artist Anne Campbell's family shieling on the Barvas Moor of North West Lewis.
Where possible the plants
are labelled with their common English, Gaelic (as available) and Latin
taxonomic names. Whilst every effort has been made to identify species
correctly it is possible that certain errors may have occurred. The birds are
Ravens. Various works of 18th Century botanical illustration influenced the
development of the imagery.
